"Steam City" is a browser strategy game set in an industrial town, where the main difference is that expansion relies heavily on your steam levels. The core mechanic is called Heat Balance: if you construct too many factories and ignore the boiler houses, the entire city shuts down.

You construct buildings, research technologies, and manage resources to expand your steam-powered city efficiently. The internal grid works simply: you click on an empty tile to build and select from the list of available structures. Each turn you decide where to direct coal and water—toward power generation or toward technology research. The resource balance is checked at the end of every in-game day, and a power shortage halts all factory production. Researching new technologies unlocks access to more complex structures, but it consumes more raw materials.

The game fits strategy fans and players who enjoy planning infrastructure development at their own pace. Tip: build a boiler house first and connect it via pipes to the nearest factories, otherwise you will run out of power by the third day.
